Dead Actually | 48 Hour Film Challenge 2021 - Adelaide
The 48 Hour Film Project is an annual film competition in which teams of filmmakers are assigned a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue, and have 48 hours to create a short film containing those elements.
From the initial concept to the final delivery in 48 hours, this was both a marathon and a sprint!
None of the crew had worked together before, so it was a huge learning experience for all involved.
My role during production was to ensure I had enough 'live' sound for the edit, as there was no time for re-records.
Post production happened overnight after a long day filming, speeding through the assembly cut, rough cut, and by morning getting to the first cut stage. Then after the director gave her feedback, it was back to the final cut. Colour was graded by Dom Legg, while I managed the audio mix.
We managed to submit with time to spare, and went on to win the Audience Choice Award for our efforts. A great experience and final result.
